WHO WE ARE
Our firm opened for business in 1927 as Hanckel & Holcombe, thus making us one of the oldest real estate brokerages operating in South Carolina. In 1996, the name changed to Holcombe, Fair & Lane when Henry Fair and Charles Lane joined the company. From the beginning, the firm provided commercial sales and leasing services. Soon it expanded into land real estate and became the first real estate company in the region to narrow its focus on specific segments of the market – namely rural properties and large acreage. Today we serve clients all across the Lowcountry and Coastal Plain, both long-time residents and newcomers, with their commercial and rural property transactions and management.
Land Conservation
Unmatched Expertise
Holcombe, Fair & Lane has consistently provided conservation-minded clients with dedicated support and knowledgeable service in the purchase and sale of conservation properties throughout the Lowcountry and the sea islands. The firm has brokered all types of land transactions including historic estates, farms, and timberlands – as well as properties geared for hunting, fishing, horses and other recreational uses.
Personal Commitment
Most importantly, every member of the firm personally owns and manages rural property and possesses a strong commitment to land conservation. Moreover, our brokers and agents support local and national conservation organizations and have played leading roles in South Carolina’s conservation movement. As a result, we have a deep understanding of land management principles and the conservation easement process.
UNIQUELY QUALIFIED
As real estate professionals and property owners, the Holcombe, Fair & Lane team is uniquely qualified to advise clients on the many nuances and special considerations involved with Lowcountry land and commercial real estate transactions. In addition, our brokers and agents are extensively involved in community endeavors related to our work. We hold leadership positions or serve as members of real estate associations, local banks, environmental organizations, wildlife management groups, and local and national conservation initiatives. Broad real estate experience combined with personal commitment and expertise in land preservation and commercial property transactions, create a winning combination for our clients.
